About:Adults are primarily terrestrial, however froglets and juveniles will frequently climb into the upper reaches of the vivarium. Males have a nice trilling call. One of the few species of Venezuelan Dendrobatids available to the hobby.

"Bastimentos Red"

Ideal temp: 75°F to 82°F

Care: Intermediate

About: These frogs range from a deep red, to a rust coloured frog. The degree of spotting may vary greatly from frog to frog as well. Pairs will thrive and reproduce in a well planted vivarium provided they are well fed with a variety of properly supplemented food items. Pumilio may not be the best choice for your first Dendrobatid, however for anyone with their feet wet with some of the larger species and looking for something different pumilio might be the frog you are looking for. All pumilio we offer are CB, and we raise froglets to nearly full size before we ship them out so that by the time the customer receives the frogs they are well out of the delicate froglet stage.
