Phyllobates vittatus Information

One of the "original" frogs of the poison frog hobby, Vittatus has a long history in captivity. A robust frog adorned with bold orange/red stripes, turquoise legs and a beautiful call. Despite these attributes this frog is not much in demand currently amongst frog hobbyists. Vittatus is endemic to Costa Rica where it is sporadically distributed over a relatively small swath of land on the Pacific versant. We consider this species an excellent beginner species.
