Ameerega hahneli “Iquitos” AH-CIN

Ameerega hahneli

Ameerega hahneli
This little frog is one more apt to be heard than seen in the rainforest. Despite its cryptic nature, it makes a very interesting captive, and thrives in a communal setting. When breeding the frogs embolden and males will stoically guard egg clutches laid in plain view on the surface of a leaf. Adorned in shades of brown, black or tan, with flashes of orange, yellow or red, depending on locality, this frog is one of our favorite Ameerega to observe in the terrarium. Given a large enclosure, hahneli will make use of every inch of it, allowing the keeper the opportunity to observe many spectacular behaviors, uniquely Dendrobatid.
