Mantella aurantiaca
Description
The golden mantella is unarguably the most sought after of all the currently available mantella. Once exported annually in the thousands, sadly few of those animals remain, and breeding populations are at the moment increasingly scarce. Much speculation abounds as to the temperature requirements for this species. We find that captive bred animals are hardy through a wide spectrum of temperatures, from mid 60’sF at night to the mid 70’sF during the day.
We are currently working with several groups of F1 animals and a few remaining wild caught ones.
All the Mantellas we offer are captive bred at Understory Enterprises. Availability is best during the late fall and early winter months.
