2016 already looks to be a busy year for us. In Canada, our show season gets under way in a little over a week, with the first of the Ontario Reptile Expos scheduled for January 17. The next expo following that will be February 28. We plan to attend most of the shows in Ontario this year. For anyone in the vicinity this is a great way to hand pick your frogs and plants, and of course to chat.
A few new varieties of frogs will be released this year. The first one available will be this stunning form of Ranitomeya uakarii we call “gold legged”.
This form hails from extreme eastern Peru and is a little larger and more robust than the form of uakarii we have been selling for many years. As the picture demonstrates they are incredibly vibrantly coloured; a stunning frog to say the least. They are available now for Canadian customers and will be available to US Customers for delivery in our March Shipment to Indoor Ecosystems. Please contact us for the complete availability list.
Speaking of Indoor Ecosystems, we have 4 planned shipments scheduled for 2016. The tentative dates are March 7th, June 6th, Sept. 19th & Nov. 14th. In addition to our shipments, Indoor Ecosystems will begin stocking a variety of our frogs so that they may be purchased in some cases without having to wait for one of regularly scheduled shipments. The Gold legged Ranitomeya uakarii will be available soon in Europe through each of our regular distribution partners. Please contact them directly for pricing if you are in the EU and these are of interest to you.
A few of the WIKIRI frogs are still available for the February shipment direct from Ecuador to Indoor Ecosystems. Please contact Understory for dates and availability for that shipment. We are looking forward to another promising year from WIKIRI!
