Asplenium sp. "Elegantulus"

Asplenium ferns similar to this seem broadly distributed throughout Andean Montane Rainforests of northern Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.  These particular ones hail from extreme northwest Ucayali but we have seen similar if not identical ferns growing amidst the tangles of epiphytes in many stretches of cloudforests throughout Peru.  Fronds of younger plants tend to be more filigree, with more mature fronds beaing somewhat "broader" or "robust".  Both frond types can be seen in the picture provide.  Frond length can reach up to 8 inches and add a special alure when reach out from a bacground or branch in a nicely landscaped and planted terarrium.
